Germania began the way so many good Texas stories do: with neighbors looking out for one another.

In 1896, 31 farmers in Perry, Texas, led by Otto Rau, came together to form the Germania Mutual Aid Association. Their goal was simple. Protect each other's farm property and help one another recover when hard times hit.

More than 130 years later, that promise still guides everything we do. Today, Germania serves more than 200,000 members from our Home Office in Brenham, with over 3,500 local agents across the state. As a farm mutual, our members have a voice in the Association. And because we insure property only in Texas, we understand the people, places, and weather that make this state unlike anywhere else.
