A resident of Dallas, Texas, Laura Deutscher earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1995. Deutscher is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Extraordinary Women on Boards (EWOB).
Deutscher currently serves on the Board of People Corporation, the leading group benefits consultant, and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in Canada. She is also on the board of, and Audit Chair for MSIG North America. MSIG is a wholly owned subsidiary of MS & AD Insurance Group Holdings Inc. - one of the top 10 property-casualty insurance groups worldwide. Prior to board service, Deutscher was a Partner at MVP Advisory Group, a consulting and advisory services firm specifically for the insurance industry. She is the former EVP and CFO of Gallagher Bassett and held numerous senior leadership positions at CNA Financial Corporation.
Deutscher is a member of Local Chapter 3000 and was appointed to the Germania Farm Mutual Board of Directors in 2021 and is active on-board committees. In 2021, she obtained her Farm Mutual Director Certification from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. She was recognized as Business Insurance’s Women to Watch in 2013 and was a 2023 Accord’s Women’s Insurance Advancement Award honoree. She is currently serving on Business Insurance’s Women to Watch Foundation Board.
