A graduate of Lockhart High School, Bruce Germer received a bachelor’s degree of business administration with a concentration in insurance and real estate from Texas State University. He is owner/agent of Bruce Germer Insurance Agency in Lockhart. As a third-generation insurance writer/agent for Local Chapter 125, he has been associated with providing insurance to Germania's members since 1973.
After 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Germer retired in 2008. He and his family are members of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell where he has served as Council President. Germer has served as coach and director for the Lockhart Little League, Chairman for Project Graduation, Chairman/Treasurer for the Lockhart Athletic Boosters, and Chairman of the Maxwell Social Club. He has been active with the Lockhart Breakfast Lions and their Meals on Wheels program.
Germer has served on the Board of Germania Farm Mutual Insurance Association since 1979 and has actively served on its subsidiary boards and board committees. In 2010, he was recognized by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies for completing the Farm Mutual Director Certification program.
