Germania marks 125th anniversary with scholarship donations

by Germania Insurance | Sep 24, 2021

Germania celebrates 125 years of serving Texans this year by giving back to fellow long-standing community organizations that have supported its business throughout the years.

Germania marked this milestone with a special anniversary event in September in Brenham. Employees, Germania Farm Mutual Board of Directors, agents, and community partners gathered for a banquet to reminisce and celebrate the years ahead.

During the event, Germania gifted scholarship funds to the Blinn College and Prairie View A&M foundations to establish the Germania Insurance Endowed Scholarship.

“Blinn College and Prairie View A&M University are both well-established organizations in this community, planting their roots even earlier than Germania,” President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Ehlert. “It’s an honor to make this contribution to two schools that have shaped so many quality individuals – many of whom are current Germania employees.”

Blinn’s scholarship funds will provide financial support for activities and programs that enhance educational opportunities for Blinn students.

“The Blinn College Foundation is privileged to receive such meaningful support from Germania by establishing their second endowed scholarship,” Blinn College Foundation Board Member Beth Masser said. “Germania Insurance truly understands the positive impact they will have in the lives of students now and for years to come. We celebrate these 125 years with and wish you many more years of success.”

Germania has designated its gift to Prairie View A&M University to provide financial assistance for undergraduate students in the College of Business.

“The Prairie View A&M College of Business is deeply appreciative of the generous gift from Germania Insurance,” Dr. Munir Quddus, dean and professor of Economics in the College of Business, said. “This scholarship will allow us to recruit talented students from across the country who come to study at our university and help us realize our mission to empower students with an education that produces future business professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs who enhance the workforce in Texas.”
