Germania sponsors two grade levels with $10,000 donation
As Brenham and Burton students return to school this fall, Germania Insurance wants to make sure they start out on the right foot.
Germania sponsored two grade levels by making a $10,000 donation to the annual school supply drive hosted by the Brenham GameChangers. In addition, dozens of Germania team members volunteered their time to organize and distribute school supplies for more than 1,800 Washington County students.
“Our local community is our passion,” said President/CEO Brandon Keller. “Many of our team members’ families grow and flourish here – including my own. Germania cannot pass up the opportunity to help our friends get ready for a new school year.”
Each year, Germania provides its team members volunteer hours to utilize within their communities for nonprofit organizations, county fairs, and mentor programs.
“One of the guiding beliefs behind Germania is putting people first, which is why we focus on giving back to the community,” said Lauren Maass, Germania team member and volunteer. “I am appreciative that Germania allows us to be active within our community through our annual volunteer hours."
Since 2018, the annual school supply drive has assisted local families in need, serving 6,351 students from Brenham and Burton ISD. The event exclusively relies on corporate giving, individual donors, and community volunteers to power this project. This year, Brenham GameChangers raised $64,000 and saw over 150 volunteers.
“I am so grateful for Germania and their amazing donation this year,” said Tori Bryan, project coordinator for the drive on behalf of the Brenham GameChangers. “Our project would not have made the impact we did without this donation.”
