Apple Pineapple Crisp
- 5 Granny Smith apples
- 1 (8 ounces) can crushed pineapple
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1⁄2 cup pecans
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1⁄3 cup butter or margarine
Procedure:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Peel, core and slice apples and arrange apples in casserole dish.
- Mix the undrained pineapple and lemon juice in a separate bowl. Spread over apples.
- Chop pecans. Mix together the brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pecans in bowl and mix well. Melt butter or margarine. Stir butter into pecan mixture. Sprinkle over the prepared layers.
- Bake, covered with foil, for 30 minutes; remove the foil. Bake for 10-12 minutes longer or until crisp.
Optional: Serve with vanilla ice cream.
