Germania announces partnership, scholarship with Texas’ Moody Center

by Germania Insurance | Jan 31, 2022

Two Texas brands are joining forces to celebrate music, art, and scholarship all in one state-of-the-art entertainment arena coming spring 2022.

Germania Insurance, a longstanding farm mutual insurance company based in Brenham, Texas, inked a multiyear deal with Moody Center, the University of Texas’ new premier, 15,000-seat sports and concert venue. Germania joins Texas strongholds Moody Foundation, Dell Technologies, and Brown Distributing Company as founding partners of Moody Center.

“The University of Texas is a great brand to bring on board – not just because I’m a proud Longhorn alumnus – but because of their prestige throughout the country,” said Germania Insurance President and CEO Paul Ehlert. “Moody Center will help to bolster our existence in the Austin market and further define our footprint as the ‘Insurance Texans Trust.’"

Opening this April, Moody Center will feature over 150 nights a year of unique entertainment, including the biggest names in the music industry, The University of Texas women’s and men’s basketball games, family shows, and other sporting and local events.

“We are thrilled to team up with Germania Insurance as a Founding Partner of The Moody Center. It was important to everyone involved in this arena project to find partners that cared deeply about both the city of Austin and the University of Texas, and Germania Insurance exemplifies that as a company. We are excited to work with [Chief Marketing Officer] Min [Choi] and his team to bring this partnership to life,” said Dan Shell, President of OVG College Partnership Sales.

The Germania-Moody Center partnership includes naming rights to a sleek, Texas Hill Country-inspired, exclusive club space, the Germania Insurance Club. This modern, 1,000-person capacity indoor experience caters to guests with its own private entrance and access to the arena floor. Germania Insurance Club will also include access to the Live Oak Lounge and The Capitol Room, a large-scale boardroom.

The final piece of Germania’s multifaceted relationship with Moody Center and the University of Texas includes a $100,000 endowed scholarship to a member of the University of Texas’ women’s basketball program. Facilitated through the university, the Germania Insurance Women’s Athletics Scholarship will be awarded annually to a Texas high school graduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a business or insurance-related field.

“Germania’s generosity ensures an annual University of Texas scholarship opportunity for a deserving female student-athlete from the state of Texas,” University of Texas Senior Associate Athletics Director Andrew Hamor, said.

Moody Center will kick off its grand opening celebration in April with entertainment from John Mayer, Justin Bieber, and two nights of George Strait with special guests Willie Nelson & Family and Randy Rogers Band. Moody Center anticipates providing over 60 nights of live music and entertainment, comedy, and family events. The complete show line-up can be found at www.moodycenteratx.com/events
