Boys and Girls Club of Washington Co. to hold family meal distributions

by KWHI | May 05, 2020

Thanks to funding from Boys and Girls Clubs across the state and from local businesses, the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County will have 180 family-style meals to distribute for the next few weeks.

The club announced this (Wednesday) morning it had received support through fundraising efforts of the Friends of Boys and Girls Clubs in Texas Advisory Committee, along with support from local businesses who matched the grant.

As a result of the extra funding, the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County will host four “Feed the Families” meal distributions at its site in Brenham, located at 1710 East Tom Green Street.

The first meal distribution will be held Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and is co-sponsored by Brenham National Bank and Germania Insurance.  Weekly distributions will continue on May 5th, May 12th, and May 19th.

Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Stephanie Wehring said the club will use this funding to help the local community, both the families who will receive the meals and the local restaurants that will be providing them.

Advance registration is required and limited to one meal per family.  For information on how to register, or to learn how to support the emergency food relief effort, go online to www.bgc-brenham.org.
