David Sommer – President

David Sommer started his career with Germania on December 7, 1978 as an Accountant. He became Assistant Secretary-Treasurer in 1986. David was appointed as Secretary-Treasurer in March 1994, and then he was elected as President and Chairman of the Board in 2000.

David is a native of Brenham and graduated in 1977 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.

He is involved in several insurance trade associations and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Southwestern Insurance Information Service and serves as President Elect of the Texas Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. His civic commitments include serving as a Director for Camp For All, and as Treasurer of the Blinn College Foundation.

He and his wife, Beth Ann have two children, Meredith and Matthew. They are members of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.
